
Coach Russo’s Algebra classes spent February researching famous African American’s positive contributions to Mathematics and did a research paper on them.


The Carol Gary Scholarship committee sponsored a Leap Day Dance for the 3rd-6th graders at DES on Thursday night. Proceeds from the dance will assist in funding the scholarship provided to high school seniors in the spring.

6th grade students hosted a “Live” Wax Museum hosting prominent African Americans.










2024 LB/HB Will Embry has been awarded a Memphis Area National Football Foundation Scholarship and will be given his award at a Black Tie Dinner in Germantown on April 22, 2024.
Will also was awarded the National Brandon Burlsworth "Greater" High School Character Award by the Brand Burlsworth Foundation.
Coach Brad Embry has been selected by the NEMFCA (Northeast Mississippi Football Coaches Association) for induction into its 2024 Hall of Fame Class. Embry will be honored with the other inductees at the 2024 12th Annual Game on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Halftime at Corinth High School. Congratulations Coach Embry!
The 2024 South All-Stars have been selected for the 12th Annual NEMFCA Game to be played on Wednesday, May 15 at Corinth High School.
Selected to represent WVHS are Jack Woodard #78, Taylen Johnson #3, and Ty Pritchard #1.
The Water Valley School District is proud of these men and their accomplishments.

Fifth graders at DES learned how to milk and make real butter on Friday with the assistance of Mrs. Christine Fielder. The cow is sponsored by Farm Bureau Association.










The Law and Public Safety students took a field trip to Batesville to observe municipal court proceedings and were able to meet with municipal court judge Jay Westfaul and city prosecutor Ryan Revere. They then went to the Panola county courthouse for a presentation from circuit court clerk Kirk Willingham as well as district attorney Jay Hale. After lunch at McDonald's, they returned to visit with Water Valley police chief Jason Mangrum and Water Valley fire inspector/public educator Layth Terry

Mrs. Jacks’s students have recently started learning about the moon phases. Today, her students replicated the phases of the moon using flashlights and styrofoam balls.

The Water Valley High School concert band, under the direction of Wes Brown, participated in the 2nd annual Northwest High School Band Pre-Fest on the NWCC campus today.


Mrs. Logsdons students have been learning about volcanoes. They loved creating their own volcano and making it explode











Mrs. Jacks’s students completed a planet project to demonstrate understanding of the solar system unit.
