Happy Birthday!

Mrs. Koshenina, WVHS parent Lynn Trusty and the following WVHS students left yesterday for a tour of Italy; Claire Allen, Mallory Tidwell, Jenna Trusty, Skylar Jordan, Jacob Wilson, and Dalton Kordik.
From Ms Kosh: Today we landed in Milan then drove to Verona where we toured Juliet Capulet's house, saw the oldest medieval tower and a Colosseum and bridge constructed in about 1010.




DES celebrated the retirement of employees Carol Clark, Lynn Grantham and Joe Armstrong during their final day celebration on Wednesday.
Plaques were presented and sponsored by First National Bank of Water Valley. A delicious cake was prepared by Mrs. Frances Martin.

Our 6th graders enjoyed their last Fun Day at DES! Thank-you to each teacher and parent who helped make this possible!





4th grade students celebrate working hard on their math state test with sonic slushes from Mrs. Briscoe and Miss. Kelly!




Congratulations to this year's National Technical Honor Society seniors. Proudly representing WVHS CTE are Ashlyn Darby, Health Science; Pallyus Caldwell, Health Science; Jordan Morgan Agricultural and Natural Resources; Ethan Johnson, Law and Public Safety; Arthur Fielder, Construction; Bianca Burrowes, Early Childhood Ed.; Summer Webb, Early Childhood Ed.; and Kameron Stacy, Construction.



Second grade students were treated to a special reading by Mrs. Yvonne B. Cox, author of "Pearlie I Dream" books. The students enjoyed listening to Mrs. Cox as she read about Pearlie's experiences. Students were able to pick two chapter books to take home as part of the Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley's Read to Succeed book drive project. Read to Succeed promotes summer reading and helps prepare students for third grade.

Mrs. Allred's 4th graders used the writing process and wrote a poetry book on a famous historical figure. The books were published and finally came in this week!
