It was a COZY Christmas at DES on Tuesday.
The December Character Breakfast celebrated the character trait of Compassion. Students were selected by their homeroom teachers for this honor. Water Valley First Baptist Church Youth Minister Colton Horner spoke to the students and their family.

Mrs .Martin 8th grade science students participated in an engaging hands-on experiment, our budding scientists had the opportunity to observe and analyze the various stages of the rock cycle in the Starburst Lab.

Celebrating a Cozy Christmas Spirit day at DES.
The WVHS marching band enjoyed their night at the WV Christmas Parade. At the end, they gave a private concert to Mrs. Upchurch and Coach Faust along with the last people at the end of parade route.

Congratulations to our football players who made ALL State!
This week, Fire Chief Mark McGavok and Instructor/Public Educator Layth Terry from Water Valley fire department visited the 2nd year Law and Public Safety classroom to discuss and demonstrate the personal protective equipment (PPE) that firefighters use when protecting our community. After learning about the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) component of PPE, students were able to test out and demonstrate its capabilities.
