DES Celebrates 100 Days of School

Congratulations to our 7th grade winner Makynzie Lucas and 8th grade winner Maliah Hill. These student’ sculptures along with other students’ sculptures were on display at Bozarts Art Gallery. They will both advance to the state competition. Thank you to the Garden Club for investing in our students

Today’s "Dress for Success" guest speakers were Eli Hodge and Michael Richardson. 7th and 8th grade students enjoyed listening to our guests about their career as linemen. Thank you so much to Eli and Michael for coming.

Ladies and gentlemen, your WVJH Lady Blue Devils season has come to an end. Your 7th grade finishes at a record of 10-0 and your 8th grade finishes 4-8! We would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your continued support and dedication for our basketball program. “To the Water Valley community, I just wanted to say thank you so much for supporting my team and I this year. Thank you for believing in us and cheering us on whether in the bleachers or at home. It’s the end of the season, but not the end of our story. To my team, job well done. You ladies showed class, persistence, and left everything on the floor.”- Coach Lawrence C. Howard #MoreThanAGame #WeAreTheValley 🔵🏀⚪️

Coach A’s and Miss Howland’s classes had the privilege of learning about career choices. Ms. Ke Ke White, hair stylist/business owner and Mr. Lee Mcminn, real estate agent/broker came to share their expertise and experience in their career fields.
Each Thursday is “Dress for Sucess” for 7th and 8th graders. Dr. Person is coordinating guest speakers each Thursday. Please reach out to her if you would like to come be a guest speaker. Thank you to both of our awesome speakers!

Phones down across district.

Sculpture entries were created by DES 4th, 5th and 6th Challenge and WV Junior High students. We hope you will make plans to view their creations.
