Second grade students were treated to a special reading by Mrs. Yvonne B. Cox, author of "Pearlie I Dream" books. The students enjoyed listening to Mrs. Cox as she read about Pearlie's experiences. Students were able to pick two chapter books to take home as part of the Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley's Read to Succeed book drive project. Read to Succeed promotes summer reading and helps prepare students for third grade.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I reflect on the incredible outpouring of support shown to our teachers and staff during this year's Teacher Appreciation Week. The generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness displayed by the community, PTO, civic organizations, churches, and various groups have been truly heartwarming. From the delicious food, thoughtful gifts, and generous donations, to the heartfelt words of appreciation, each gesture has made a significant impact on our educators. Your support not only recognizes their hard work and dedication but also motivates and inspires them to continue making a positive difference in the lives of our students. In all my years in education, I have never witnessed a community that supports its schools and educators with such passion and sincerity as Water Valley does. Your commitment to education and belief in our mission to nurture and empower young minds is remarkable. On behalf of the entire Water Valley Schools family, I want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your support strengthens our school community and reinforces the vital role education plays in shaping a bright future for our children. Thank you for being amazing partners in education! Best regards, Drew Pitcock Superintendent Water Valley Schools
