This week in our 8th grade science class, students delved into the topic of cell division, specifically mitosis. We engaged in a variety of hands-on activities to enhance their understanding, including:
Oreo Model: Students created models of cell structure using Oreos to visually demonstrate the stages of mitosis.
Cell Cycle Scavenger Hunt: Utilizing microscopes, students explored real cell samples to identify different phases of the cell cycle.
Task Cards: Students worked collaboratively to solve problems and answer questions related to mitosis.

Mrs. Jacks’s students presented their ecosystem dioramas today depicting what they have learned about the different biomes around the world.











Mrs. Koshenina's students are using digital media to perform a variety of skits. Her students have been learning to analyze complex characters, motivations, and author's choices for character development. Mrs. Koshenina provided props and skit ideas for her students. Awesome job!!

Mrs. Jacks’s students participated in a hands-on activity where they created a yarn food web. During this activity, students discussed the concept of food webs and developed a deeper understanding of ecological relationships within the food web.
