Ms. Jackie Kerr from Mississippi Museum of Natural Science came to DES to talk to Mrs. Jacks’ 5th grade students. She discussed food chains, food webs, and ecosystems with the students while showing furs, live animals, and fossils

DES students have been learning about the Elements of Art this year in their art activity class with Mrs. Winters. The first element they learned about was “lines”. PreK-2nd used different kinds of lines to make a “Scribble-Saurus Rex” and 3rd-6th grade students used lines to make a “Bad Hair Day” drawing.




Mrs. Jack’s 5th graders learned about oil spills today during a class experiment.




Happy Labor Day!

As follow up from earlier this week, Mrs. Sain's class learned it took teamwork to pull The Gigantic Turnip out of the ground. They had a fun activity of cooking fresh veggies in the crockpot, including, of course, our own gigantic turnip!.
