The past two weeks my students have been exploring plant cells, photosynthesis, and food webs! We “painted with chlorophyll”, extracting the organism that gives leaves their green color. We explored photosynthesis and food webs through growing our own basil. Students are tending to the plants and recording observations in their growth. Students created model plant cells, modeled ecosystems food webs with the whole class, and researched those ecosystems in small groups!

Cell Cycle Scavenger Hunt: Utilizing microscopes, students explored real cell samples to identify different phases of the cell cycle.
Task Cards: Students worked collaboratively to solve problems and answer questions related to mitosis.
