DES had a special visitor today! Recent retiree Carol Clark came to the school to read a Christmas story to students in the DES library and ran into a few of her babies from her last year’s kindergarten class. They say you never forget your kindergarten teacher…look at the joy on their faces! 🥹🥰💙

Dress Like a Christmas Movie Character at DES to kick off Christmas Week!
Students in Ms. Tune’s Science class reviewed their physical science standards with a Christmas themed experiment on States of Matter. Students made “hot cocoa” Ooblek, a substance that acts as a solid and a liquid depending on the pressure applied.
Ms. Pittman and Ms. Cee classes were rewarded with ice cream sundaes for working hard and growing on benchmarks and improving in I-ready.
DES 3rd grader Maggie Wood received a special treat today from Santa’s elf (AP Ms Allen) for showing the most growth on her 2nd 9 weeks’ reading assessment. Congratulations, Maggie! Keep up the good work! 💙
