VIRTUAL LEARNING WEEK 11-30 THROUGH 12-4-2020

All students in the Water Valley School District will switch to virtual learning for one week only following the Thanksgiving holiday as a precautionary measure to prevent the potential spread of Covid-19. The switch to virtual learning will hopefully avoid a possible outbreak which could shut school down for the rest of the semester.

The recommendation for virtual learning for all students from November 30 to December 4, 2020 was approved by the school board during a special meeting last Friday. The decision is a preemptive measure as many students will attend family gatherings or travel during the holidays, increasing the risk for exposure to Covid-19. This will help mitigate the effects of any potential symptoms students may exhibit during that time period as a consequence of possible exposure.

All WVSD employees will report to work during the virtual learning week. School buses will deliver meals each day. Students will receive instructional material with daily course work for the week. All students will have packets sent home but may complete the work online if they have access to the internet. The packets will be distributed on Friday, November 20, 2020. All work will be labeled daily so students know what day to do assignments. This will also help us track attendance when they return to school. Assignments will be turned in on Monday, December 7, 2020 when students return to the classroom.

More information regarding the distribution of lunches will be posted to the district Facebook page and our website in the near future.
